TACOMA, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--US Post Acute Care LLC (US PAC) a physician-led medical practice group, announced today that Kevin Henning MD joins the leadership team as Chief Medical Officer, effective immediately. Reporting to Founder and CEO Darren Swenson MD, Dr. Henning will lead a clinical team of forty physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants focused on the care of post-acute and long-term care patients in an inpatient setting.
Dr. Henning joins US PAC with extensive experience as a practicing physician, medical director, and physician executive. Since 2013 Dr. Henning served as Medical Director for Optum CarePlus for the states of Washington and Oregon. Prior to that, he served as Chief Medical Director for Amedisys, Inc. a national hospice and home health company. Dr. Henning is board-certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Henning is a Certified Medical Director with the American Medical Directors Association. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Currently, Dr. Henning serves as President of the National POLST Leadership Council and on the board of the Washington State Post Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine Society. Dr. Henning received his medical training at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Henning has served on the teaching faculty of a family medicine residency and in the private practice of family medicine. He is committed to ensuring post-acute care patients receive the highest quality medical care available. A well regarded teacher and lecturer at many U.S. and international medical meetings, Dr. Henning has expertise in teaching and fostering communication skills among clinicians that maximize both patient outcomes and the patient care experience.
