RSA® Adaptive Authentication for eCommerce Improves Fraud Protection and User Experience

New capabilities address digital risks including EU regulations and CNP 3D-Secure transactions where the cardholder is not in session

In this version, RSA Adaptive Authentication for eCommerce implements the latest features available in the EMV 3D-Secure v2.2 protocol, adds new authentication flows to support transactions where the cardholder is not in session, and introduces new capabilities that significantly enhance the customer’s checkout experience.

Regulations like the Payments Services Directive 2 (PSD2) in the European Union (EU) has driven online merchants to adopt the EMV 3DS protocol for Card Not Present (CNP) transactions, meaning ecommerce transaction traffic is expected to grow exponentially. This makes it even more critical for card issuers to select a trusted and well performing 3DS Access Control Server (ACS) that can accurately detect fraudulent payments while keeping transaction success rate high and providing a frictionless cardholder experience.
