Books-A-Million to Welcome Author Ann Napolitano, Jan. 16

Author event will feature “Dear Edward” book signing, meet-and-greet and more

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--()--Author Ann Napolitano will greet Montgomery fans to discuss her highly recommended new book, “Dear Edward.” Books-A-Million invites guests to join the author for a book signing event and Q&A on Thursday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Books-A-Million store in The Shoppes at Eastchase, located at 7074 Eastchase Parkway, Montgomery, AL.

A stunning novel of courage and connection, “Dear Edward” by Ann Napolitano is the most recent Books-A-Million President’s Pick and is the Jenna Bush Hager’s Book Club top pick for January. This impactful novel shares the tale of twelve-year-old Edward Adler struggling with the worst kind of fame – as the sole survivor of a plane crash. As he searches to find a place in the world without his family, he makes an unexpected discovery—one that will lead him to the answers of some of life's most profound questions: When you've lost everything, how do you find the strength to put one foot in front of the other? How do you learn to feel safe again? How do you find meaning in your life? “Dear Edward” is at once a transcendent coming-of-age story, a multidimensional portrait of an unforgettable cast of characters, and a breathtaking illustration of all the ways a broken heart learns to love again.

"Ann Napolitano’s “Dear Edward” defies categorization or simple plot summary,” says Books-A-Million president, Terrance G. Finley. “It is a book for every reader. Edward is but one of a host of characters who will stay with you long after you turn the last page. Chances are you will find pieces of yourself and those you love along the way as well. “Dear Edward” is a wonder; powerful, engaging, endearing and transformational - a beautifully rendered story of hope."

Napolitano is also the author of the novels “A Good Hard Look” and “Within Arm’s Reach.” In addition, she is the Associate Editor of One Story literary magazine and has taught fiction writing for Brooklyn College’s MFA program, New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and for Gotham Writers’ Workshop. In November 2019, Ann was long-listed for the Simpson/Joyce Carol Oates Literary Prize.

To attend the free event, guests can RSVP on the Facebook page. There will be an opportunity for attendees to purchase a copy of the book onsite for the signing.

The signing will take place at the fully reimagined Montgomery Books-A-Million store. Guests will experience an updated layout and store design; new product lines; and an all-new Café BAM. The new format is designed with customers in mind, offering original products as well as the traditional goods shoppers have come to love, all in a new space.
