Advantage Capital Invests $1.75 Million in StruXure, Bringing Jobs and Economic Development to Rural Georgia

StruXure looks to expand its current facility and bring new jobs to Lumpkin County, highlighting the economic impact of the Georgia Agribusiness and Rural jobs Act (GARJA)

DAHLONEGA, Ga.--()--Advantage Capital today announced a $1.75 million investment in StruXure Outdoor, a manufacturer of high quality, adjustable pergolas for both residential and corporate outdoor spaces. The investment will support the expansion of its current facility leading to the creation of 25 jobs in the near-term and 40 over the next three years.

“This funding will be pivotal in helping StruXure expand and scale at the level we are capable of,” said Scott Selzer, President and CEO of StruXure. “We are currently experiencing exceptional growth in both our corporate and residential channels. This investment is enabling us to keep pace with that growth.”

The investment was made through the Georgia Agribusiness and Rural Jobs Act (GARJA) to support the company’s growth, create strong job opportunities and expand the local economy in rural Lumpkin County, GA, where 20% of the population currently lives below the poverty line.

The GARJA program, which was passed by the Georgia General Assembly during the 2017 legislative session, is intended to improve access to capital for small businesses and stimulate economic expansion in rural parts of the state that have not seen the same kind of economic prosperity urban areas have in recent years.

“We originally brought StruXure to Lumpkin County when I was head of the Development Authority as a way to bring much-needed, quality jobs to north Georgia,” said Sen. Steve Gooch (R-Dahlonega). “I’m thrilled to see businesses like StruXure continue to grow and be a source of prosperity in our community. I want to see more stories like this in our area. That means we need to make sure we are reaching out to rural communities, hearing their needs and creating a vision that incentives growth.”

“With our participation in the GARJA program, we can provide capital to growing businesses in rural Georgia that otherwise may not have access to it,” said Anthony Billings of Advantage Capital. “Our financial solutions are customized for the businesses in which we invest, allowing companies that are poised for growth to expand, hire new employees, and in turn, grow local economies.”
