dunnhumby and Retail Leader to Present “What Makes a Retail Winner: The New Rules for Success” Webinar on September 5th

With Retail Leader’s Mike Troy, Jose Gomes and Erich Kahner of dunnhumby will deep dive into the levers for retail success and why some retailers win and others don’t

CHICAGO--()--dunnhumby, the global leader in Customer Data Science, and Retail Leader will present the complimentary webinar, “What Makes a Retail Winner: The New Rules for Success,” on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 3 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. Drawing on data and insights from the dunnhumby Retailer Preference Index (RPI) reports for the U.S. grocery market and the convenience/dollar/drug channels, dunnhumby’s Jose Gomes, President of North America and Erich Kahner, Associate Director of Strategy, will discuss what it takes for retailers to survive and thrive in today’s disruptive climate.

“While many in retail believe we are in the worst of times filled with changing customer needs, disruptive technologies, new competitors, thinning margins, and closing stores, we believe it is also one of the best times for retailers,” said Gomes. “By understanding the unique needs of their customers and then delivering what matters most to win their preference, retailers have the opportunity to achieve sustainable growth by putting their customers first.”

dunnhumby is entering its third year of conducting comprehensive, nationwide studies of both the U.S. grocery market and the U.S. convenience, drug and dollar market, surveying over 7,000 U.S. households for each market, to determine which retailers have the strongest combination of financial performance and consumer emotional sentiment. The studies evaluate retailer performance on specific pillars to determine the RPI index ranking.

During the webinar, Gomes and Kahner will discuss:

  • The drivers of consumer preference and what has changed
  • The RPI methodology
  • How retail winners make emotional connections
  • The new rules of value perception, key drivers and amplifiers
  • The three things RPI laggards must do to improve their appeal to their unique customers

“dunnhumby’s RPI is quickly becoming known as retailing’s equivalent of the Magic Quadrant because of the depth and breadth of the detailed analysis of shopper sentiment and financial performance,” said Mike Troy, Editor in Chief of Retail Leader. “This webinar can benefit retailers and brands who are looking to improve their bottom line with a blueprint of what matters to their customers.”
