GREENSBURG, Pa.--()--Spreadshirt, the self-expression global e-commerce company ends 2018 with the biggest profit in the company's history. The profit margin of the online hub for self-expression amounted to $11.7M EBITDA. That is a growth of 23.2% compared to the previous year. The company increased its total revenue to $130M (+7.1%). Three-quarters of this is accounted for by the German, US and French markets. The top 5 markets are completed by Scandinavia and north-western Europe.

Marketplace and Spreadshop attract creatives

The number of active Marketplace Designers and Shop Owners selling on the platform (collectively referred to as Partners) rose from around 80,000 in 2017 to over 100,000 in 2018. Last year, for example, saw 34% more active Partners on the Spreadshirt Marketplace. A total of around 10M designs were uploaded in 2018. For the second year running we have a commission millionaire who has generated over a million dollars from design sales on the Spreadshirt platform.

Since the beginning of 2018, Spreadshirt has been expanding its Shop offering under the brand name Spreadshop. Last year saw the launch of numerous product features that allow Shop Owners to better market their Spreadshop. For example, Partners can now display their own designs on model images and include posters in their assortment. The number of Shop Owners who successfully make their first sales shortly after launching their Spreadshop has risen by 20% compared to the previous year.

Additional Notable Milestones from 2018

  • 5.5 million printed products were shipped to 177 countries.
  • Mobile traffic (mobile phones and tablets) increased by 17.7% to 58%.
  • Almost half of all orders were placed via mobile devices in 2018 (10% more than in 2017).
  • At the end of 2018, Spreadshirt launches Spreadshirt Print-On-Demand (SPOD), a drop-shipping service for e-commerce shop systems, on the US market. The European launch is in the planning phase.
