Spectroscopy® Presents a Webcast on Confocal Raman Microscopy

The broadcast will feature expert insights from an industry leader, Ute Schmidt

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--Spectroscopy®, a multimedia platform that promotes the use of spectroscopic instrumentation in applied research, environmental testing, quality control and the life sciences, will host “How to Take the Next Step in Correlative Raman Imaging of Polymers and Microplastics” on Thursday, June 27, at 11 a.m. EDT.

“This webcast will provide an educational introduction to what exactly Raman microscopy is, along with an introduction to its operational principles and contribution to polymer and microparticle research,” said Tom Ehardt, president of MultiMedia Healthcare, LLC.

The webcast will be presented by Ute Schmidt, applications manager of WITec GmbH, the leading German manufacturer of confocal and scanning-probe microscopes for state-of-the-art Raman. The webcast will be moderated by Jerry Workman, senior technical editor for Spectroscopy®.

Formerly a project manager at Molecular Imaging Corp., Schmidt has focused on in situ scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) in an electrochemical environment and scanning probe microscopy. During her postdoctoral scholar position at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Germany and North Carolina State University, she continued to work with metal deposition on different substrates with STM and atomic force microscopy.

Designed for Raman newcomers and experienced spectroscopists, “How to Take the Next Step in Correlative Raman Imaging of Polymers and Microplastics” offers an educational look into Raman microscopy and how its tools offer great potential for polymer and microparticle research.
