GumGum Sports Accelerates Growth with Hiring of Former ESPN Exec Tori Stevens as SVP of Customer Success

Stevens brings 20-plus years of sports sponsorship and tech experience to growing team, adding to Q1 successes that include beating total 2018 revenue in just 45 days

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--()--GumGum Sports, the leader in AI-powered sports sponsorship measurement, today announced the hiring of Tori Stevens as its Senior Vice President of Customer Success. Based out of GumGum’s New York office, Stevens will lead and expand the company’s Customer Success team, which is comprised of client operations, business insights and account management, servicing GumGum Sports’ rapidly growing global client base. Stevens brings to GumGum Sports more than 20 years of sports sponsorship, media and technology experience, joining from the Sports Innovation Lab, where she remains as an advisor. Prior experience includes more than a decade at ESPN as a Vice President and leadership roles at GlideSlope, CSM Sport & Entertainment, and the Boston Consulting Group.

Stevens’ hiring underlines GumGum Sports' recent growth and success, which includes doubling its employee count in 2018 and analyzing more than $2 billion in media value for partners across the NBA and NHL during the 2018-19 season. In just the first 45 days of the year, GumGum Sports surpassed its 2018 total revenue figure. Q1 2019 was the company’s third consecutive record quarter revenue-wise.

A graduate of Dartmouth College and Columbia Business School, Stevens will report directly to GumGum Sports GM, Brian Kim. She joins fellow ESPN alum, GumGum Sports Vice President of Sales, Ian Partilla, who came on board in April of 2018.

“Tori’s extensive consumer brand background and her work with national and global sports properties have helped her to truly understand the challenges clients face in measurement,” said Kim. “With that experience, she can authentically speak from the voice of our customer, continuing GumGum Sports’ category leadership not just in technology, but service as well.”

Kim emphasized the value of Stevens’ work at GlideSlope and the Sports Innovation Lab, where she worked with some of the world’s biggest companies.

At GlideSlope and CSM, Stevens helped to build sponsorship strategies for Citi, Bridgestone, Dow, North Face and AARP, a tenure that included Olympic partner onboarding. With Sports Innovation Lab, Stevens’ advisory services included working with the NFL, Intel and Octagon.
