Iconic Dallas-Fort Worth Taco Restaurant Finds Its Roots with Return to Original Name

As birthplace of Rusty Taco, local DFW-area “R Taco” locations return to Rusty Taco with community celebration in Grand Prairie on Saturday, March 23

DALLAS--()--Across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, “R Taco” restaurants are returning to the original Rusty Taco name – a legacy that began more than nine years ago at the original location on Greenville Avenue. To celebrate the return to its roots, the brand built on the promise “Tacos are the Most Important Meal of the Day®” will be offering guests an enhanced menu featuring the Fried Chicken Taco Three Ways and new Smoked BBQ Brisket Taco.

The return to Rusty Taco is much more than a name change – it is a nod to beloved founder Rusty Fenton who, along with his wife Denise, started the Dallas mainstay in 2010 – which has now grown to 31 locations across eight states.

The Rusty Taco name is back, offering the same great atmosphere we all know and love,” said Joe Sieve, Brand Head of Rusty Taco and Vice President of Franchising, Inspire Brands. “I am thrilled to honor Rusty in the best way we know how… with newly enhanced menu items, fresh ingredients and a great fiesta.”

In addition to the new menu items, Rusty Taco is offering three limited time seasonal items including the Migas Taco, a side of Fried Jalapenos and a Pineapple Honey Margarita. Guests who visit during “Loco Hour” Monday through Friday between 4 – 7 p.m. will be treated to discounted beer, margaritas and side items.

Festivities will include games and giveaways, as well as special throwback prices on $2 tacos and $3 margaritas, with proceeds donated locally to the Lifeline Shelter for Families in Grand Prairie. Event begins at 8 a.m. and will continue until closing at 10 p.m.

Rusty Taco is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner – offering a welcoming and friendly atmosphere with unique artwork and design driven by the local community. Inspired by the simplicity and authenticity of neighborhood taco stands, the menu includes an assortment of fresh, hand-made tacos, including breakfast tacos served all day.
