Triple Crown Consulting Senior Leadership Team Now Over 80 Percent Female with New Appointments

Triple Crown celebrates International Women’s Day by elevating women to leadership roles

AUSTIN, Texas--()--Triple Crown Consulting, a technology recruitment firm filling hard-to-find senior tech roles through its vast talent network, announces the creation of five new leadership roles in the growing company. The positions have all been filled by women - Vanessa Hernandez, Director of Operations; Monica Jackson, Regional Vice President; Sarah Milliken, Director of Finance and Accounting; Jenn Casinader, Director of Human Resources; and Heather Walker, General Counsel. As the world celebrates International Women’s Day 2019, Triple Crown recognizes the importance of advancing the role of women in the recruitment and technology industries, both in its own company and through the talent it places.

The new positions were created in direct response to Triple Crown’s recent and projected growth. The company has increased its client portfolio by 17 percent and plans to reach $100 million in 2019 annual revenue. It has expanded its footprint with two new offices in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Costa Mesa, California over the past two years, for a total of five offices.

“Triple Crown is growing at a tremendous rate, which called for the creation of these new roles,” said Triple Crown CEO Padma Sunkara. “We’re thrilled to appoint five women to these positions. Each one of them is incredibly gifted in their disciplines and will play a critical role as Triple Crown continues to grow.”

“There’s no doubt we’re seeing more women in technology than ever before, and Triple Crown is committed to striking a gender balance so our company can best engage with the changing workforce with the right mix of energetic, driven and competitive talent,” added Triple Crown Co-Founder Dave Smith.

Meet the New Members of Triple Crown’s Leadership Team

Appointed as Director of Operations in January 2019, Vanessa Hernandez supports Triple Crown’s leadership team and staff while ensuring the company’s clients and consultants receive a superior talent partner experience. Since joining in 2007, Hernandez has not only been a pioneer in her role as Director of Sales Operations but was the first woman hired as an Account Manager at Triple Crown during its early years. Looking ahead, Hernandez is committed to taking the organization to the next level by growing its staff and pushing the team to work at peak capabilities. “I’ve learned that everything is a work in progress and success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, persistence and dedication and I’m committed to creating a culture that embraces this process,” said Hernandez.

Monica Jackson joined Triple Crown in 2012 as an Account Manager and quickly rose through the ranks, most recently being promoted to Regional Vice President overseeing the San Jose and Costa Mesa, California offices. Throughout the years, Jackson has developed a reputation for delivering the right talent exactly when and where the client needs it. She brings persistence and problem-solving to every engagement and has built a robust talent pipeline in a region that is highly competitive for IT recruiting. In her new role she plans to keep growing the Triple Crown business alongside the entire leadership team. Jackson stated, “I intend to maintain my hands-on approach and look forward to continuing to mentor our regional employees so that they can achieve their full potential.”

Sarah Milliken was promoted from Controller to Director of Finance and Accounting in January of this year. She joined Triple Crown in 2016 and has accomplished a tremendous amount in a short time, including bringing the accounting function in-house and streamlining and organizing its processes and procedures. Milliken also put into place structures around internal bonuses and budgets, created transparency around the back office and strengthened communication between the department and the rest of the company. “My goal has always been to build and maintain trust between production and operations so that we can improve accuracy and organization within the company,” said Milliken.

In her two years with Triple Crown, Jenn Casinader has made a tremendous operational and cultural impact on the company. Recently promoted to Director of Human Resources, Casinader started the human resource department with the philosophy that proper training, mentorship and a supportive environment are what motivates people, especially in the competitive world of technology recruiting. Now managing an HR team, Casinader helps each employee look beyond metrics to understand which behaviors contribute to good outcomes or act as barriers to success. “I’ve been able to create this type of environment because Triple Crown’s management empowers its leaders to do what they think is best for their departments,” remarked Casinader.

Heather Walker joined Triple Crown as General Counsel in February of this year. She has an extensive background in creating and managing legal departments and will be tasked with building Triple Crown’s legal team as the company enters a new phase of growth. “One of the things that attracted me to Triple Crown was that its executives placed women in key leadership roles within the company,” stated Walker. “I think bringing different perspectives to the table is critical to a company’s success and I look forward to working with the entire team.”
