RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--UNC REX Healthcare is honored to receive a top recognition from the American College of Cardiology, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive and high-quality cardiovascular care for all patients.
The ACC awarded UNC REX with its HeartCARE Center National Distinction of Excellence. UNC REX is the only hospital in North Carolina to receive the designation, and one of only 13 hospitals nationwide.
The recognition comes as UNC REX marks the second anniversary of the North Carolina Heart & Vascular Hospital, which opened in March 2017 and has treated thousands of patients from Wake County and across Eastern North Carolina. It also follows UNC REX being named to a list of the nation’s 50 best Cardiovascular Hospitals by IBM Watson Health last fall.
