Star Mountain Names Former Blackstone and Marakon Associate Michael Glennon as Vice President

Michael Glennon, a professional with over 10 years of experience, joined the Star Mountain team as a Vice President

NEW YORK--()--Star Mountain Capital, LLC ("Star Mountain"), a specialized investment manager focused exclusively on the large and underserved U.S. lower middle-market, is pleased to announce that Michael Glennon recently joined as a Vice President. Michael is another example of Star Mountain bringing proven large market expertise and resources to established, private small and medium-sized businesses as a differentiator for both the companies it invests in, as well as for the institutional and individual investors who are aligned with Star Mountain.

Mr. Glennon has over 10 years of business development, investment, operations and investor relations experience from leading asset management firm The Blackstone Group where he spent approximately 4 years (receiving 2 promotions) and top ranked management and strategic consulting firm, Marakon. Mr. Glennon’s experience also includes civic duty, working at the White House as an Economic Associate focusing on economic policy, research, and political appointments.

The Blackstone Group is a $425+ billion AUM alternative investment fund manager. Marakon is a global management firm founded in 1978 and named a 2018 Best Management Consulting Firm by Forbes. At Blackstone, Mr. Glennon primarily focused on investment products (including private equity, private credit and special situations), strategic investor relations and reporting.

During his time with Marakon, Mr. Glennon worked on projects in the financial services, consumer products, logistics, and industrial manufacturing industries. For example, Mr. Glennon managed a team of four on a multi-month project for a North American industrial manufacturer where he prepared board of directors’ packs, led risk-analysis of potential mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and changing market/competitive dynamics, and built a debt-service/cash flow model to predict changes in rating and cost of capital based on potential M&A scenarios.

Mr. Glennon earned an MBA with Dean’s Honors from Columbia Business School and a BA in History and Political Science (cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania.
