Flow Kana Leads Sungrown Craft Cannabis Movement as #1 Selling Flower Brand in California

Customers show purchasing preference in 2018 for sungrown cannabis cultivated by heritage farmers

REDWOOD VALLEY, Calif.--()--Flow Kana, the premier sustainable sungrown cannabis provider embracing Northern California’s independent craft farm ecosystem, has commanded the number one selling cannabis flower brand position for three quarters in a row in California, according to data by BDS Analytics. In September alone, estimates by BDS Analytics showed that Flow Kana’s retail sales outpaced the competition by nearly three times. Flow Kana continues to gain aggressive market share in a fast moving industry, demonstrating that the California consumer has a growing preference for cannabis sungrown on small craft family farms from Northern California’s Emerald Triangle growing region.

In April of this year, Flow Kana opened the first phase of operations at its 87,000 sq. ft. facility in Mendocino County, The Flow Cannabis Institute, offering a wide range of co-packing, white label, and distribution services to partner brands, dispensaries and manufacturers. In 2019, Flow Kana will open manufacturing operations, at the Flow Cannabis Institute, allowing for the company to further extend its white label and co-branding services to a full suite of oil-based offerings, for specialty products such as vape, topicals, tinctures, and more, with cannabis inputs all locally sourced from Flow Kana’s partner farmers.

“The number 1 position is not only a testament to our hard work and our commitment to the communities in which we serve, but moreso a sign of the conscious California consumers that are choosing brands that are rooted in social, environmental and organic values,” said Michael Steinmetz, Flow Kana’s co-founder and CEO. “It’s incredible to see the transition of consumer preferences that a fully legalized market brings. We believe this plant belongs cultivated under the amazing California sun and this data shows consumers choose sungrown.”

Flow Kana sources cannabis flower from independent farms who cultivate under full sun, sustainably, and in small batches from the world-renowned growing regions of Northern California, harnessing the biodiversity, library of cannabinoids and strong terpene profiles found only in California’s Emerald Triangle region - Humboldt, Mendocino, and Trinity Counties. Using only organic methods, Flow Kana’s partner farmers are true stewards of the land and have spent their lives balancing a unique and harmonious relationship between the farm, the genetics and the terroir. The result is an unparalleled craft cannabis experience that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

As the cannabis industry develops its unique supply chain, Flow Kana supports entrepreneurs and brands who see the potential and necessity of the sungrown movement. With any Flow Kana or “Powered by Flow Kana” product, customers can trust that regardless of form factor, the cannabis inside is sungrown and cultivated organically by small independent craft farms.
