Santa Clara University School of Law Now Offering Online Master of Legal Studies in Corporate Compliance

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--()--Santa Clara University School of Law recently announced the launch of a new Online Master of Legal Studies (MLS) in Corporate Compliance. Designed for working professionals whose current role requires a broad range of compliance skills and legal knowledge, the program delivers cross-disciplinary training in enterprise risk management, regulations, policy development, ethics, and privacy.

“I’m thrilled that we are launching our new Online MLS in Corporate Compliance,” said Lisa Kloppenberg, dean and professor of law at Santa Clara University School of Law. “It aligns with Santa Clara Law’s vision and commitment to provide excellent, ethical leaders at the intersection of law, technology, business, justice, and ethics.”

Led by faculty who have helped forge compliance standards in America’s entrepreneurial epicenter, where corporate regulations are often in flux, the Online MLS in Corporate Compliance offers practical coursework that is built on competency-based skills training and the application of these skills in a gamified, simulated business environment, known as SiVCo. While much of the program focuses on mastery of definitive legal topics and industry best practices, select courses are structured with flexible content, ensuring faculty can address trending topics and emerging industry concerns.

“This program is being taught by the same industry-leading compliance experts and legal professionals who helped to design the innovative curriculum,” said Sandee Magliozzi, associate dean for experiential learning. “These individuals bring incredible breadth and depth of knowledge to our students, as they have pioneered solutions to some of Silicon Valley’s most challenging and unprecedented compliance hurdles.”

The program curriculum includes comprehensive coursework in business organization formations and associated cultures; internal audits; external investigations, including settlements and prosecutions; corporate communication styles; regulatory matters; hiring and training; and more. The program is comprised of 12 courses, which can be completed in as little as a year, and all student work is conducted entirely online, with course materials and engagement tools accessible through a mobile learning platform.

“Everspring is thrilled to work with Santa Clara Law in launching the Online MLS in Corporate Compliance,” said Beth Hollenberg, president of Everspring, the online program management partner that has designed the digital content and experience for the Online MLS. “The alignment of Santa Clara’s faculty and expertly developed curriculum with our company’s dynamic learning platform and support services will give students an outstanding educational experience.”

Applications for admission are now being accepted for an April 2019 class start, with a final application deadline of March 15, 2019. More information about the Online MLS in Corporate Compliance can be found at compliance.law.scu.edu.
