Cura Cannabis Solutions Announces Company-Wide Minimum Wage Increase

New Company Standard Reflects Cura’s Push to Elevate the Still Young Cannabis Industry

PORTLAND, Ore.--()--Cura Cannabis Solutions, one of the largest cannabis companies in the world, announces today it is raising the company-wide minimum wage to $14 per hour, effective November 1. This new company-wide standard will benefit the company’s employees in Oregon, California, Nevada and Arizona and will immediately make a positive impact on the wages of 65 employees.

This new minimum wage is almost twice the federal minimum wage and 30 percent higher than the minimum wage in our home state of Oregon. The decision is reflective of Cura’s goals to raise standards within the cannabis industry, especially when it comes to ethical and elevated employment practices. With around 90 job opportunities currently open at the company, Cura is focused on creating an environment that allows employees at every level to grow. The company prides itself on providing its team with unique career development opportunities that they may never have in other industries, or at other companies.

“Cura is uniquely positioned to lead the charge on raising the standards around what it means to work in the cannabis industry,” said Cura President and Chief Executive Officer Cameron Forni. “Just a few years ago we were a team of 15, and now with more than 500 team members in the Cura family, we continue to be laser focused on providing opportunities for growth for each and every person. We were proud to be the first cannabis company to provide comprehensive health coverage to all our employees and now I’m thrilled to raise the minimum wage across the entire company.”

Makers of the Select Oil and Select CBD brands, Cura was established in Portland, Oregon in 2015. In 2018, the company was named as one of the Top 100 Companies to Work For in Oregon by Oregon Business Magazine, placing no. 12 in the Large Companies category.
