MURFREESBORO, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) will come to life at more than 100 events across the state during the 2nd annual Tennessee STEAM Festival, taking place Oct. 12-21.
The Festival was founded by the Discovery Center at Murfree Spring and incorporates events at a wide range of museums, schools, community centers and other attractions. A complete listing of activities and locations is available at TNsteam.org.
“The Tennessee STEAM Festival returns in 2018 to engage and inspire Tennesseans in science, technology, engineering, art and math,” said Discovery Center CEO Tara MacDougall. “Our goal is to promote life long curiosity and help cultivate the next generation of citizen and professional science advocates and practitioners. We hope that many thousands of Tennesseans will be able to participate and, perhaps, be amazed by science that surrounds us in our everyday life. Signature events during the Festival include "amusement center science" with the Discovery Center and Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles; a free movie night at MTSU with rocket-themed activities and a metal pour; the "Science of Wine" at Pink Palace in Memphis; "citizen science" at the Nashville Zoo; "printmaking" with Hatch Show Print at the Country Music Hall of Fame, "Civil War STEAM" at the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum in Harrogate; and much more!

The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring is a hands-on, environmental, cultural and educational museum located in the heart of Middle Tennessee.
