MichBio Announces Program for Expo and Conference Celebrating 25 Years of Driving Bio-Industry Growth

ANN ARBOR, Mich.--()--The program for MichBio’s “25 Years of the Michigan Biosciences Industry Association” EXPO and Conference on October 29th and 30th will celebrate the Michigan bio-industry. Day one will offer an in-depth look at how the industry has changed in the last quarter century, including presentations from established, little known, and emerging companies. Day two will lay the groundwork for the future with sessions on investments, talent and leadership, research and commercialization, and technology that will shape the industry for decades.

“Attendees will hear from seasoned executives and industry experts about how they’ve navigated the changing bio-sciences environment in Michigan,” says Stephen Rapundalo, Ph.D. and President and CEO of MichBio. “We know that the industry is evolving rapidly and any insight we can give about where we’ve been will better prepare us for the future.”

The first day will conclude with the inaugural presentation of the Michigan Bioscience Pantheon awards to ten industry giants who have shaped the community and laid the groundwork for many organizations and innovations.

Rapundalo continued, “After that broad look at the industry, attendees have options of focused sessions on capital investments, emerging trends and technologies that will shape the markets, strategic decision-making during the research and commercialization processes that will drive long-term growth, managing the talent that will take the industry to the next level, among others.”

Between the sessions, and at dedicated networking events, including a Halloween-themed reception, attendees will have opportunities to meet with speakers, talk with their peers, visit the exhibit floor, and make the connections and relationships that will continue to grow the Michigan bio-industry.

“The event will conclude with a session from a patient advocate that will help to unify the different industry sectors in their shared mission of improving the longevity and quality of life of people, and animals, in Michigan and around the world,” says Rapundalo.

The event is generously sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), as well as, numerous corporate and industry partners.
