Association for Supply Chain Management Launches New Alliances, Solidifying Global Leadership

ASCM collaborates with industry leaders to elevate excellence within supply chain

CHICAGO--()--Today, the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), the global leader in supply chain organizational transformation, innovation and leadership, announced a new global alliance network aimed at propelling supply chain forward and transforming how organizations do business.

The new global alliances enable corporations around the world to connect with ASCM for thought leadership on all aspects of supply chain,” said APICS CEO Abe Eshkenazi, CSCP, CPA, CAE. “As organizations expect more from their supply chains, they can look to ASCM as their partner in achieving global supply chain excellence, innovation and resilience — realized one supply chain and one person at a time.”

ASCM is an all-encompassing supply chain organization built on the foundation of APICS. Together with its global alliance network, ASCM can propel the supply chain industry forward and transform how organizations do business.

Global alliances, the highest level of ASCM collaboration, are customized relationships that involve a jointly managed product and may also include any combination of corporate membership, sponsorship, research and events.

The ASCM launch will be complete in early 2019, but the global alliance network already includes:

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation builds partnerships that bring together resources, expertise and vision to focus on the areas of greatest need and help all people lead healthy, productive lives. ASCM has been awarded a grant by the foundation to develop and implement a sustainable operating model focused on improving public health supply chains and foster the overall advancement of end-to-end supply chain management in Africa.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is the largest professional body serving the procurement and supply profession. CIPS will work with ASCM to enhance educational standards for individuals and organizations alongside improving workforce development, and benchmarking within procurement. CIPS and ASCM are developing a new procurement certification, which will be offered in the North American market in 2019.

Accenture is a global management consulting and professional services firm that provides strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations services. Accenture will work with ASCM to provide an extensive, easy-to-access online study program that supports the APICS CPIM review process.

Deloitte Consulting LLP is the industry-leading provider of advisory and consulting services, lending its expertise and point of view to the ASCM Digital SCOR Taskforce. Together, Deloitte and ASCM support the Manufacturing Institute’s STEP Ahead Initiative, which showcases the impact of women in science, technology, engineering and production careers.
