Indegy Releases Series of Videos on Critical Infrastructure Protection for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Educational Series Spotlights Security Threats to Power, Manufacturing, Building Automation, Transportation and Water Systems

NEW YORK--()--Indegy, a leader in industrial cyber security, announced that beginning today it will release an educational video each week in October as part of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2018. The annual event is a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every American has the resources they need to stay safer and more secure online, while increasing the resiliency of the Nation during cyber-threats.

Each week during the month of October, Indegy will release a 1-2 minute video narrated by its CEO and industrial cyber security expert Barak Perelman on the threats facing key critical infrastructure sectors -- Power, Manufacturing, Building Automation, Transportation and Water Systems -- and what can be done to protect against them. The first and all subsequent videos will be available here.

“While the theme of this year’s National Cybersecurity Awareness Month is ‘cybersecurity is our shared responsibility,’ one of the key messages for 2018 is working together to secure critical infrastructure from cyber threats,” said Barak Perelman, Co-founder and CEO of Indegy. “We developed this video series as a way to share our insights on industrial security, inform viewers on the threats to critical infrastructure and explain how attackers are targeting key industry sectors.”

Critical Infrastructure Protection Video Series
Indegy will release a different video during the weeks of Oct. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. The first, released today, covers how industrial control devices that run power facilities can be directly or indirectly modified to cause potentially dangerous events. Subsequent videos will highlight how manufacturing, smart buildings, transportation & logistics and other sectors that rely on industrial control systems are being targeted and vulnerable to cyber threats.
