CURE Media Group Announces Chuck Pagano as Guest Speaker at the 2018 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Heroes Awards Ceremony

The event recognizes individuals who excel in their efforts to raise awareness and education around chronic lymphocytic leukemia

CRANBURY, N.J.--()--CURE Media Group, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise focused on cancer patients, is proud to announce that Chuck Pagano, Former NFL Coach, Motivational Speaker and Cancer Survivor, will be the guest speaker for the CURE® 2018 Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Heroes recognition ceremony. The event honors individuals that excel in their efforts to raise awareness and education around chronic lymphocytic leukemia. This year’s ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 2, at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego.

“We are honored to have Chuck Pagano as the guest speaker for this celebration,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., President of MJH Associates Inc., parent company of CURE Media Group. “As a leukemia survivor, Chuck will be able to share his story and touch the lives of patients and caregivers in the audience that have made a difference in the lives of people with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).”

Pagano is a former NFL football coach. He served as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts from 2012 to 2017 and prior to that he was the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. In September of 2012 Pagano was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer and underwent treatment at the IU Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis for three months during his first season with Colts. Pagano and his family received tremendous support from The Colts, The NFL and the entire sports community during his treatment. Two dozen of the Colts’ players and two of their cheerleaders shaved their heads and began a movement to support Pagano known throughout sports as “ChuckStrong.”

CURE® CLL Heroes awards ceremony, which includes a recognition dinner, will be held during this year’s ASH Meeting on Hematologic Malignancies. The CLL Hero honorees are nominated by patients and caregivers for their heroic contributions in the field of chronic lymphocytic leukemia or in the individual lives of people with CLL.
