The Harry Potter Kano Coding Kit is a creative tool inspired by the Wizarding World, brought to life with sophisticated electronics and software that you can code. It has been included in Amazon’s Top 25 Toys of 2018 and The Toy Insider Tech Toys for 2018, cited by British actor and comedian Stephen Fry as ‘rather tempting’, defined as ‘first of it's kind’ by Harry Potter fansite The Leaky Cauldron, and earned mainstream coverage in the BBC, CNBC, as well as impressed technology journalists from Engadget, TechCrunch or The Verge amongst many others.
It takes fans of all ages on a journey from beginner to coder, as they flick and swish their wands through more than 70 challenges. It works wirelessly with iOS or Android tablets as well as Windows or Mac computers and includes a poster that illustrates classic spell motions such as Incendio, Stupefy, and Wingardium Leviosa, and stickers.
The fun continues with Kano World, where anyone can make, share, and play with art, music and games made by people of all skill levels from 150 countries. Having welcomed over 1.5 million users in the last 18 months, Kano World is a free, thriving creative community with approximately 660,000 shared pieces of music, art, and apps- all contributing to a grand total of over 57 million lines of code. It lets makers see the code behind any piece of artwork, song, game or app and tweak it to make it their own.
