NEW YORK & ZURICH--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Evolution Equity Partners today announced that Karthik Subramanian has joined the firm as partner and will lead investments in cybersecurity, enterprise software, IoT, cloud and analytics. Mr. Subramanian will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area and help build Evolution Equity Partners’ presence on the West Coast. He is also a member of the investment committee.
As head of cybersecurity acquisitions and investments for Cisco, Mr. Subramanian helped establish the company as a sector leader through several marquee acquisitions totaling more than $3.75B in cumulative deal value. He led investments in 11 leading cybersecurity companies in four years.

Prior to Cisco, Mr. Subramanian was vice president of investment banking at Barclays (previously Lehman Brothers) where he advised companies on software M&A and financing with a cumulative transaction value of over $5B. He also led Xoom.com’s successful IPO on NASDAQ. Mr. Subramanian holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, a M.S. from Georgia Tech, and a B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
