JNBA Financial Advisors' CEO Richard S. Brown Ranked in Top 100 of Forbes 2018 Top Wealth Advisors List

Prestigious national listing recognizes Brown and JNBA as top advisor in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Richard Brown, CEO of JNBA Financial Advisors, has been named to the Forbes 2018 Top Wealth Advisors List, which includes 250 of the nation’s leading advisors. Richard is ranked 100th nationwide, and is the top Minnesota advisor on the list.

This is the first year Richard has been nominated for the prestigious list, which was compiled from more than 25,700 nominations. An independent firm, Shook Research, evaluated nominees based on an algorithm of quantitative data and qualitative criteria gained through due-diligence interviews.

Factors included everything from how the advisors exhibit best practices in their approach to working with clients and within their practices, to whether they provide a full client service experience when it comes to service model, investing process, fee structure, and breadth of services and resources offered.

“Richard’s expert, dynamic and hands-on leadership has been instrumental in helping JNBA raise the bar as we continually strive to provide the best independent service possible to our clients,” says Kim Brown, JNBA Financial Advisors president. “Richard is leading the way in helping us to always do better and provide exceptional service. As an independent Registered Investment Advisor and fiduciary, JNBA takes an advocacy approach to all that we do in order to always act in our clients’ best interests.”

Building on a rich history of operating as an independent RIA, JNBA in recent years has enhanced service levels and streamlined processes, growing the business to more than 850 clients and over $950 million in assets under management, while maintaining a client retention rate of over 97 percent since tracking began in 2001. The firm is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2019.

JNBA’s fiercely independent status allows the firm to customize investment strategies to individual client goals, which are implemented by an experienced team and disciplined process, including a review of each portfolio every 10 business days. JNBA’s dedication to being an advocate for its clients, employees and community has fueled the firm’s continued growth, including opening an office in Duluth, Minn., and its expansion of family office services, designed for executives, business owners and professional athletes. With Richard at the helm of the firm’s growing family office team, JNBA applies its advocacy model to every aspect of a client’s financial well-being, from complex business dealings to household administration to reputation management.

JNBA has been recognized locally and nationally for its dedication to clients. Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota named JNBA a winner of its 2015 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics, and the firm was named a finalist in the 2016 BBB International Torch Awards for Ethics. In addition, JNBA was also named a Barron’s Top 100 Independent Advisor in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, and Minnesota’s top financial advisor in 2018, and a Financial Times Top 300 Registered Investment Adviser in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.*
