NASHVILLE, Tenn.--()--SpecialtyCare—the nation’s leading provider of outsourced intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM), perfusion, and surgical services—announced today that it has acquired IONM provider Precedent Health. This transaction extends SpecialtyCare’s market leadership position as the largest and most comprehensive provider of patient-centered outsourced IONM services to surgeons, hospitals, surgery centers, and health systems.

With Precedent Health, SpecialtyCare increases the number of associates available to support cases in our existing markets across the United States while adding significant new coverage in markets such as Buffalo NY; New York City, NY; Detroit, MI; and Portland, OR. The company employs more than 500 IONM professionals supporting over 100,000 procedures annually for more than 725 IONM customers and 2,300 surgeons.

SpecialtyCare CEO, Sam Weinstein, MD, MBA, said, “I am thrilled that Precedent Health and SpecialtyCare are joining forces. Our shared commitment towards innovation and continuous improvement will drive better clinical outcomes for our patients, outstanding customer service for the surgeons we support, and additional opportunity to improve financial results for our customers. Combining our resources, experience, and clinical skills we will undoubtedly create new opportunities for our clinicians.”

“We are very excited to become part of the SpecialtyCare team,” Precedent Health’s President and CEO Brian McCollum added. “Their focus on investing in the growth of their associates, and their customer-oriented approach to surgeons and hospitals justify my confidence that this merger will provide tremendous benefits for our patients, our team and our customers.”

“Together, Precedent Health and SpecialtyCare will continue to build on our history as leading providers of patient-centric neuromonitoring services,” remarked Jonathan Walters, SpecialtyCare’s President IONM. “The additional case volume will continue to increase the clinical data collected in the SpecialtyCare Operative Procedural Registry, SCOPE™, which is the largest national multi-institutional database of its kind. This will further refine and enhance SpecialtyCare’s online dashboards, benchmarks, and analytics driving continuous improvement in clinical delivery, operational expense, and efficiency.”
