SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CPS HR Consulting today announced the addition of Dave Rechs as practice leader for state government services.
In this role, Rechs will draw upon his human resources and government expertise to collaborate with California state agencies to implement human resources solutions that will result in improved organizational performance. His responsibilities also include building strong client relationships, diagnosing and analyzing client needs, developing innovative and strategic HR solutions, and ensuring superior service delivery.

With more than 15 years of experience working for the state of California, Rechs most recently served as deputy secretary for human resources policy at the Government Operations Agency (GovOps). Prior to that, he served as project lead for the Governor’s Civil Service Improvement Initiative, which helped make California’s civil service system more effective, transparent and performance driven. Previously, he was assistant secretary of innovation and accountability at GovOps.
Rechs also served in the Governor’s Office to implement the 2012 Government Reorganization Plan, worked as a project manager to combine the State Personnel Board and the Department of Personnel Administration into the new California Department of Human Resources, and, earlier in his career, served in a number of supervisory and managerial positions for the California Department of Personnel Administration and the Department of Transportation.
Rechs received his bachelor’s degree in social science from California State University, Sacramento and earned his teaching credential at National University.
