TripleCare Introduces Telemedicine at the Village at Victory Lakes

NEW YORK & LINDENHURST, Ill.--()--TripleCare, a national provider of telemedicine-based health care to the post-acute care sector, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), and The Village at Victory Lakes, a Franciscan community, jointly announced today the introduction of TripleCare’s services at this non-profit senior living community in Lindenhurst, Ill.

The Village at Victory Lakes is located on a 38-acre campus and offers senior living independent and assisted living options as well as memory support, skilled nursing care, and rehabilitation services.

The Village at Victory Lakes is leveraging TripleCare’s virtual physician services to bring care to patients at their bedsides. TripleCare’s experienced physicians connect to patients using advanced technology at times when the facility’s physicians are not on-site, such as overnight, during the weekends and on holidays. By offering physician accessibility during these times, TripleCare, with support from The Village at Victory Lakes’ on-site nursing staff, treats patients in place, in real-time. Physicians can differentiate from those who can be cared for on-site versus those that require a hospital transfer.

“By aligning with Franciscan and working closely with their clinical staff, we are striving to improve the overall patient resident experience and reduce the number of hospital transfers. Our expert physician network is highly trained and experienced, and by coupling this expertise with advanced technology, they try to treat patients in place whenever possible. The Village at Victory Lakes is enhancing the experience for their residents and families by deploying our services to help prevent hospitalizations and keep patients in the comfort of their community,” stated Dr. Mary Jo Gorman, chief executive officer at TripleCare.

“TripleCare’s services are proving beneficial to skilled nursing facilities in improving their patient census and treat-in-place rates while reducing return-to-hospital (RTH) occurrences. By employing our physician-based telemedicine services, we are helping The Village at Victory Lakes stand out in the local market they serve,” Gorman said.

“We are excited to offer residents high-quality medical care that doesn’t require them to leave the community,” said Jeanne Heid-Grubman, administrator at The Village at Victory Lakes.

”Research indicates that a home-like environment is critical for optimal patient recovery following surgery or a medical event. When patients are in a healing space, one that evokes feelings of serenity, calm, and relaxation, it facilitates the innate healing process—a process of repair, recovery, and return to wholeness in mind, body, and spirit,” she added.
