Prometric® Unveils Best-Practices Approach White Paper For the New Food Code

Results and the Food Safety Industry’s Call to Action to be Advanced at July’s IAFP Conference

BALTIMORE--()--Prometric®, the authority in food safety testing and assessment and leader in service excellence for the industry, announced today the availability of a white paper report, “Adopting the 2017 Food Code: A Five-Step, Best Practices Approach.”

The white paper outlines how best to overcome the adoption challenges from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) issuance of its new edition of the Food Code. The report contains additions and changes to existing provisions that will better protect the health, safety and welfare of food-industry practitioners and the general public.

“By increasing adoption of the current 2017 Food Code into their processes, food-service businesses have the opportunity to reduce the number of food-borne incidences—safeguarding their businesses and demonstrating their commitment to protecting public health in partnership with federal, state and local regulators,” stated Holly Dance, vice president, Prometric. “Our best-practices approach includes five key steps that companies and food-safety compliance officers need to take to assure they are following the most up-to-date guidelines,” adds Dance.

This Call to Action will be further advanced at IAFP’s Annual Meeting https://www.foodprotection.org/annualmeeting/ to be held July 8 -11, 2018 in Salt Lake City, UT. The event will allow Prometric to teach participants and business partners how best to achieve full adoption of the new Food Code.
