David Grzebinski, Kirby, will offer key note recognition

HOUSTON--()--Lori Ryerkerk, executive vice president of Shell Global Manufacturing, will accept the 2018 Maritime Company of the Year award on behalf of Shell Oil Company at the Greater Houston Port Bureau’s Annual Maritime Dinner on August 18, 2018.

A leading executive in the oil manufacturing sector for more than two decades, Ryerkerk is responsible for the operations of all Shell refineries and chemical sites as part of the largest business in Shell Downstream Inc. She leads a team of 30,000 people, employees and contractors, world-wide.

“I am honored to be receiving this prestigious award on behalf of Shell. This award comes to us because of the exceptional partnerships we have with various communities and organizations in and around the City and port of Houston. Working together we have made great strides in addressing ship channel efficiency and helping take care of the needs of our communities, and I look forward to this opportunity to celebrate those successes.”

The Port Bureau Board of Directors named Shell as the 2018 honoree because of Shell’s exceptional record of support of the Houston maritime community for nearly a century, and more particularly, its drive toward improving shipping in the port of Houston and globally. David Grzebinski, president and CEO of Kirby Corporation and Port Bureau board member, will provide the key note recognition for Shell at the event.
