AECOM strengthens commitment to corporate responsibility with launch of the Blueprint Travel Grant program

The new global impact initiative includes 25 projects spanning 15 countries and extends the company’s Blueprint for a Better World platform

LOS ANGELES--()--AECOM, a premier, fully integrated global infrastructure firm, announced today that it has launched the Blueprint Travel Grant program, a corporate responsibility initiative that funds employee-driven volunteer service trips in partnership with nonprofit organizations that focus on delivering access to safe and secure infrastructure, creating opportunity for the leaders of tomorrow and protecting the environment.

“Through the transformational projects they deliver, our people are the driving force behind AECOM’s positive impact in communities around the world,” said Michael S. Burke, AECOM chairman and chief executive officer. “Our Blueprint Travel Grant program extends our principles and purpose – to build a better world – and our employees’ commitment to solving pressing humanitarian and infrastructure challenges in places where there is great need.”

To kick off the program’s inaugural year, AECOM has awarded 25 grants to support projects whose purpose is to help bring lasting, scalable solutions to communities in need. The projects, ranging from the installation of solar powered water purification systems to the design and construction of educational facilities in rural communities, span 15 countries including: Cambodia, China, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Panama, Philippines, Tanzania, Thailand and Uganda.

The Blueprint Travel Grant program is part of Blueprint for a Better World, AECOM’s corporate responsibility platform that launched in 2017. Blueprint for a Better World was inspired by the tangible impact AECOM’s employees make on the world and expands on AECOM’s past community initiatives. The platform brings to life the company’s purpose, reflecting AECOM’s core values and strategic priorities through its three pillars:

  • Opening Doors: Delivering access to safe and secure infrastructure so those who need it most have a place to call home and resources to thrive.
  • Creating Opportunity: Helping to develop the next generation of the world’s problem solvers and ensure future leaders reflect the diversity of the world we live in.
  • Protecting Tomorrow: Leveraging our expertise to lessen our impact on the planet to help communities prepare for the future.
