77th Iroquois Steeplechase Post Position Drawing

--()--Iroquois Steeplechase:

WHAT:

You know what they say, “it’s not how you start, but how you finish.” Well, before racegoers will ever know which horses take home top honors at the 77th Iroquois Steeplechase, sponsored by Bank of America, organizers must first determine the starting positions for all seven races.

Iroquois Steeplechase, Nashville’s iconic sporting event, begins with the drawing for post positions. During this one-hour ceremony, all owners entering this year’s race will discover their horse’s place in the starting lineups, allowing them to plan their race-day strategy. While a horse’s starting position doesn’t necessarily determine how it finishes the race, owners and jockeys deem certain positions more advantageous than others. With that in mind, the post position drawing not only sets the stage for Iroquois Steeplechase but also gives owners the knowledge they need to start prepping their teams and horses for the actual races.

This one-of-a-kind event kicks off the excitement of Iroquois Steeplechase by bringing together horse racing teams and event organizers to establish the starting lineups that will play out in thrilling race-day competitions.
