Leveraging data from hundreds of thousands of local services professionals across the country, Thumbtack is able to match available and interested pros to customers instantly based on each unique job requested.
With Instant Results, instead of providing pages of information about their request up-front, customers can simply search Thumbtack’s unparalleled inventory of local services and dynamically adjust their preferences to see up to 30 customized results in real-time. Customers can filter by price, location, schedule and more to guide them toward booking the right professional for the job. Customers can also easily start a conversation using the Thumbtack messenger to answer any unanswered questions ahead of completing their booking.

Instant Results builds on Instant Match, the suite of pro tools Thumbtack rolled out last September to enable the future of work for local services professionals and to support the scale and marketing of their businesses. To build this experience, Thumbtack harnessed more than nine years of data on local professionals and 25 million customer requests in nearly 1,000 different categories to build the largest local-service dataset. This dataset serves as the backend system to provide instantaneous matches to customer requests.
Since launch, Thumbtack more than tripled the number of quotes pros send out and increased customer contact by 60 percent. Pros on Thumbtack are now budgeting millions of dollars on the platform every week, resulting in an excess of pros per customer for the first time in Thumbtack history, with revenue per pro up 84 percent. With Instant Results, matches between customers and pros are up 20 times and as queried, each visitor may be matched to up to 30 pros who can complete their project.
Instant Results is currently rolling out across the platform and available as of now in nine categories including massage therapy, personal training, house cleaning, piano lessons, DJ, photo booth rental, wedding officiant and home inspection. Instant Results and Instant Match will be enabled across all categories on Thumbtack in late 2018.
