Cloudinary Recognized as a 2018 Bay Area Best Place to Work

One of the Most Successful, Bootstrapped Startups in the Bay Area is also a Great Place to Work

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--()--Cloudinary has been named a winner of the 2018 Bay Area Best Places to Work, an awards program presented by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Proudly, the company took the #1 spot in the Small Business Category and was honored at an awards ceremony in San Francisco last week.

With offices in Sunnyvale, Tel Aviv and London, Cloudinary helps the world’s most successful brands, including Bleacher Report, Conde Nast, Fairfax Media, Under Armour and Whole Foods Market, manage their digital media assets to deliver improved online experiences. The Best Place to Work award underscores Cloudinary’s continued momentum and success: the profitable company, which chose bootstrapping over the more popular VC investment path, expanded its global headcount from 75 to 125 over the last twelve months, surpassed the 300,000 user mark, and recently opened its first European office in the UK.

“We’re thrilled to be named a Bay Area Best Place to Work,” said Itai Lahan, Co-founder and CEO, Cloudinary. “When my co-founders and I started Cloudinary we knew that we wanted to cultivate a culture where smart, motivated people would thrive, and we couldn’t be happier that our employees love where they work. Our continued success is a testament to their hard work and commitment, and to our shared belief in what we’re doing to help brands deliver better, more engaging experiences to their own customers. We do our best work, so our customers can do theirs. It’s a win-win in the truest sense.”

This year’s winners survived a nomination pool of more than 500 applicants and employ a combined 49,000 Bay Area employees. Award applicants were evaluated and ranked across five categories according to the number of Bay Area employees. The ranking found companies in the region whose employees rated them as the highest on values such as trust in leadership, collaborative culture, personal engagement and satisfaction of individual needs.
