Alex Wilmot-Sitwell and Matthew Smith to Join Perella Weinberg Partners as Partners

Michael Hatchard Named Senior Advisor

Expands Scope and Scale of European Advisory Franchise; Significantly Enhances UK Market Presence

NEW YORK & LONDON--()--Perella Weinberg Partners (“PWP”) announced today that Alex Wilmot-Sitwell and Matthew Smith will join the Firm as Partners in the Advisory business. They will work closely with Dietrich Becker, Head of European Advisory, and the Firm’s European industry group heads to grow the Firm’s presence in the UK. They will join the Firm in September and August 2018, respectively, and will be based in the Firm’s London office.

Mr. Wilmot-Sitwell is an investment banker with a longstanding and distinguished career. Most recently, he was President of Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) at Bank of America Merrill Lynch with responsibility for the execution and development of the bank’s strategy and business activities in the EMEA region. From 1996 to 2012, Mr. Wilmot-Sitwell was with UBS, serving in numerous leadership positions, including Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific region at UBS AG and Co-CEO of UBS Investment Bank.

Mr. Smith has more than 20 years of investment banking experience. He joins PWP from Barclays Capital where he was Head of UK Corporate Finance & Advisory, advising clients like Worldpay on its $10.4 billion merger with Vantiv, Informa on its proposed acquisition of UBM and the London Stock Exchange on its proposed merger with Deutsche Boerse. Prior to joining Barclays Capital, Mr. Smith was Co-Head of EMEA TMT at Citi.

The Firm also announced that Michael Hatchard has been named a Senior Advisor to PWP. Mr. Hatchard is a retired Partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. During his more than 20 year career at Skadden, he advised on some of the largest and most complex cross-border transactions in the UK.

In addition to these senior UK hires, PWP also recently named Ambassador Lou Susman a Senior Advisor to PWP. A former lawyer and Vice Chairman of Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking, he served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s from 2009 to 2013. He is based in Chicago but will also be active for PWP in the UK.

The Firm also announced today Philip Yates’ retirement as a Partner of the Firm and his appointment as a Senior Advisor. Together with Mr. Hatchard and Ambassador Susman, Mr. Yates will provide strategic guidance to PWP as the Firm looks to enhance its business across the UK and on the continent.
