CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kemper Corporation Director David P. Storch will be recognized as the recipient of the 2018 Disciplined Life Award® by the Perspectives Charter Schools network in Chicago at their annual Gala in May. The award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment to ethical leadership and exemplify the principles on which A Disciplined Life was created.
“This is a well-deserved recognition for David and we’re proud that he’s being honored for his long-term support of Perspectives and commitment to improve the lives of children,” said Joseph P. Lacher, Jr., Kemper’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “David’s integrity and dedication to high personal and professional standards is evident throughout his business and philanthropic endeavors, and we’re grateful for the leadership he provides not only to Kemper but to the Chicago community.”
Perspectives is a high-performing charter school founded in 1997 that currently serves nearly 1,800 children in economically disadvantaged and under-resourced south side communities in Chicago.
Perspectives’ foundation, based on “26 Principles of a Disciplined Life,” helps guide student behavior and performance, and develops the students’ moral compass.
“David embodies these principles, and he strives with our students and school communities to live these 26 principles with us,” said Diana Shulla-Cose, Perspectives Charter Schools co-founder and President.
Storch currently serves as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of AAR, a leading provider of aviation services for commercial and government customers in more than 100 countries. Earlier this year, he announced his retirement as CEO effective June 1, 2018, after which he will remain non-executive chairman. For many years, Storch and AAR have partnered with Perspectives to provide students with opportunities and resources including mentorships, internships and field study.
The Perspectives’ 2018 A Disciplined Life® Gala will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Chicago.
