Astadia Publishes AWS Performance Benchmark Guide for Moving UNISYS Enterprise Applications to AWS

Results of Study Find AWS is Reliable and Scalable for Mainframe Application Workloads

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--()--Astadia announces the release of their Amazon Web Services (AWS) Performance Benchmark Guide. This paper documents the results of a benchmark study to test performance of UNISYS (NYSE:UIS) mainframe applications that have been migrated to AWS. Astadia conducted this study with support from AWS and software provided by Micro Focus and Astadia. Results of the performance benchmark testing revealed AWS to be a reliable and scalable environment that provides the performance, stability and availability necessary to cope with the demands of applications originally designed for Unisys mainframes.

The Unisys mainframe continues to run some of the most important information systems of an organization. In Astadia’s previously published Unisys to AWS Reference Architecture Guide, the goal was to assist business and IT professionals as they prepare plans and project teams to start the process of moving mainframe-based application portfolios to AWS. In this new document, the Unisys Mainframe Workload on AWS - Performance Benchmark, we explore the performance and tuning aspects of the application set, after it has been moved to AWS.

“The real value is that AWS customers can scale up, or scale down, depending on workloads dictated by their business. This will allow customers to access the capacity they need at any point in time but release that extra capacity when they no longer need it,” said Astadia Chairman and CEO, Scott G. Silk.

In this Performance Benchmark Guide, readers will explore more than 29 pages of:

  • OLTP test workload description
  • OLTP performance
  • Performance scenarios and results
  • Load Balancing with Auto Scaling
  • Batch performance

The AWS Performance Benchmark is FREE and can be downloaded below. It is part of the Astadia Mainframe to Cloud Modernization Series. Astadia is a member of the AWS Partner Network (APN).
