WELLCOM & EdLogics Announce Partnership to Improve Health Literacy

OMAHA, Neb.--()--More than 90 million Americans today are at risk for health problems simply because they have difficulty understanding health information. WELLCOM (Wellness Council of the Midlands), a non-profit organization dedicated to elevating workplace wellness, announces today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with EdLogics, a digital health communications company focused on transforming the way people learn about health, to provide innovative health education and employee engagement solutions to existing and prospective WELLCOM member-employers. WELLCOM serves a network of hundreds of employers of all sizes throughout the Midwest who are focused on doing what is right for their employees.

The announcement is made in conjunction with WELLCOM’s upcoming Quarterly Innovative Symposium, “Technology’s Impact on Worksite Wellness," slated for Thursday, March 8 at the University of Nebraska Omaha's Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center. The symposium brings together nearly 100 business, HR, and benefits professionals to discuss the ever-changing healthcare landscape and the effect of worksite wellness technology in engaging and educating employees and their families. #WELLCOMQ1

Through their new partnership, WELLCOM and EdLogics will team up to provide the EdLogics Platform™ to member employees and their families. EdLogics' unique approach to improving health literacy combines interactive health games and multimedia learning programs with incentivized gamification to create a fun and engaging learning experience.

“One of WELLCOM's guiding principles is to ‘connect’ by bringing worksite wellness professional and industry leaders together," said Theresa Nelson, WELLCOM’s Interim President and CEO. “WELLCOM partners with businesses to connect our members to resources, products, and services to enhance or advance workplace wellness initiatives. We are grateful to be able to partner with EdLogics, and we're excited for the opportunity to team up to provide a health education and engagement resource that can help improve health literacy among employees and family members throughout the Midwest.”

“We look forward to working with WELLCOM to offer their members one of the most advanced consumer health education and communication resources available," said Thomas Chamberlain, PharmD, Founder and CEO of EdLogics. “We know that people who understand their healthcare conditions are more engaged, make smarter healthcare decisions, and have better outcomes. By combining the power of multimedia educational programs with interactive, game-based learning and unique incentives, we increase user engagement, improve their understanding of key health conditions, and help them navigate the healthcare system. We are truly transforming the way people learn about health.”
