Video interpreters in Bengali, Swahili, Karen, and Japanese are now available. Video interpreters in Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Cantonese are now available 24x7x365.
All users will now benefit from the increased availability of interpreters in these key languages. Bengali, Swahili, Karen, and Japanese were launched in January of this year, and have already been heavily utilized by Stratus Video clients. The addition of 24-hour access to Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Cantonese is also significant. According to the US Census Bureau, Chinese and Vietnamese are among the five most common languages spoken in American homes. Arabic is the second most accessed language on the Stratus Video platform following Spanish.
This increased video language ability represents Stratus Video’s continued commitment to providing the best interpretation services to limited English proficiency (LEP) patients. Federal law, including Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, requires language access to be made available to all LEP patients.
