Diversified Maintenance Successfully Completes First Year of LEAPS Training Program

LEAPS begins with Leadership and ends with Success. The in-house training program focuses on cultivating managers and helping them develop new skills towards success.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--()--As a way to nurture next generation’s leaders and help them move up the corporate ladder, Diversified Maintenance has designed a comprehensive in-house training program for its employees. The objective of the program is to encourage aspiring managers to adopt all the skills and knowledge they may need to help their teams thrive in today’s competitive facilities maintenance industry. The program, launched in the latter half of 2016 completed its first full calendar year of monthly class sessions in December 2017. Attendees reported improved customer service, increased communication between corporate and field teams as well as employee retention and empowerment. In 2018, the company is expanding the LEAPS program to all levels of the organization and will also be offering additional enhanced modules.

An acronym for ‘Leadership, Empowerment, Accountability, Passion and Success’, LEAPS is a multi-phase program designed to educate employees on the importance of leadership and what success looks like in every aspect of their professional life. The two-day program covers operations of all departments within the organization. Heads of Departments conduct training through interactive sessions at the Birmingham Training Center. “The goal is to set up our teams for success and this program provides them with valuable information and industry best practices that they can apply in their daily duties,” says Bill Rush, Head of Human Resources for the Commercial & Industrial division. “Through this class, we have seen employees improve their skills and knowledge which has helped them get ahead in their careers. Post every LEAPS session, attendees have provided valuable suggestions to continuously improve the program and it has increased motivation and excitement within the organization.”
