OMAHA, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TD Ameritrade1 is bringing financial market updates, investor education, research and trading to retail investors through Twitter Direct Messages. Powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and backed by live client service support – retail investors now have one more way to do their research, access the markets and get support.
“We were one of the first in our industry to embrace the power of Twitter as a customer service tool because we recognize that consumers are turning to social platforms as the new 800 number,” said Sunayna Tuteja, director of emerging tech and innovation at TD Ameritrade. “Twitter is a platform that investors are already using to chat with us and get breaking news that can impact the markets, especially during busy times like these. Now, we’re taking their experience to a whole new level, further helping investors gather news, do their research, get real-time quotes, and take action — all without leaving the Twitter Direct Message platform.”
“TD Ameritrade is paving the way when it comes to how financial service firms connect with consumers,” said Jeff Melei, director of financial services client solutions at Twitter. “From their founding sponsorship of TicToc by Bloomberg to the chat bot they are launching today, TD Ameritrade has been consistently innovating and using Twitter in unique ways to provide their customers with access to a breadth of real-time data and customer service."
“This launch is a significant piece of our strategy to bring the power of TD Ameritrade’s investing technology to the platforms that people are using every day,” said Vijay Sankaran, chief information officer at TD Ameritrade. “By tapping into familiar interfaces like Twitter and using the power of AI to provide greater context, conversation and education, we hope to make investing simpler and more accessible for more people.”
By connecting with TD Ameritrade through Twitter Direct Messages, investors can get on-demand market information, news and events, quotes and sector information, plus social sentiment powered by LikeFolio* and more than 150 educational videos about investing. Existing TD Ameritrade clients can authenticate and log into their accounts and transact directly through the platform. In addition, Scottrade2 clients can quickly get answers to their questions regarding the transition to TD Ameritrade.
Investors can currently chat with TD Ameritrade through third-party platforms including Facebook Messenger, Amazon Alexa and Twitter DM.
