MONTREAL--()--Once again this year, Shriners Hospitals for Children®–Canada is ranked amongst the best employers of the metropolitan area according to Mediacorp’s 2018 rankings. This annual competition evaluates employers of the Great Montreal on 8 specific criteria, amongst which, management performance, work atmosphere and social activities, community engagement, communication with the staff, skills development and training. Only the winners receive the title “Top Employer”.

“This recognition mark, we owe it to the devotion of our staff”, says Bill Miller, Chairman of the hospital’s Board of governors. “I’m proud to say “thank you and congratulations” for a third consecutive year, as our employees’ passion for our young patients is what generates our quality care and services”.

Jacques Boissonneault, Hospital Administrator, who has worked in the health and social services network for over 30 years, believes that the Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada is different. “Our employees consider this hospital as their second home. Not only because of the family spirit that prevails. But also because they know the organization believes in them and is capable of offering good professional growth opportunities”.

“Every year, we strive to improve our work environment. We are listening and this is what allows us to create interesting new projects. For example, we have just opened a Wellness room for our employees. We also care about this important aspect”, explains Laurence Steck, Human Resources Director.

Employees from all levels of the organization love what they do. They’re happy to make a difference in the lives of children. You can truly see it and feel it. Despite the increase of the number of employees, 26% more than in 2015, and the increase of 35% of visits for ambulatory services and rehabilitation, the spirit of fraternity and camaraderie persists.
