SEOUL, South Korea--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Trueman Man Clinic Network, the leading hospital for male plastic surgeries in Korea, announced that it performed more than 7,000 SWITCH operations between May 2012 and December 2017 as a method of treating premature ejaculation (PE).
SWITCH operation is a surgical technique developed by Dr. Yang Ki-hoon, the chief director of the Trueman Man Clinic Network. It improves the disadvantages of conventional neurectomy for premature ejaculation.
98% of patients who underwent surgery achieved healing of PE and a significant decrease in sensation. The senses were confirmed to persist consistently over the years.
1~2% of the patients wanted to restore the sensation due to DE or ED after the SWITCH operation. All of them underwent simple restoration surgery and the sensation was restored to more than 80% of the preoperative sensory level.
SWITCH operation is performed through a 1 cm incision under local anesthesia at the base of the penis. The operation time is about 10 minutes, and it is possible to have shower from the next day after surgery.
The SWITCH operation can restore the sensation if the patient desires to turn the nerve switch on again after the surgery. There is no need to worry about the side effects like delayed ejaculation (DE) or erectile dysfunction (ED) by excessive decrease of the sensation after the operation.
Dr. Yang explains that the surgery is very simple and safe, and it is a very innovative way of treating PE because it can be solved even if side effects occur.
Doctors have negative insight due to the side effects and high recurrence rate in the penile dorsal neurectomy. However, the SWITCH operation has solved these side effects and lowered recurrence rate. The SWITCH operation can be a good option for PE.
