TOMORROW: Thousands to Rally for School Choice at Capitol in Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C.--()--Families and educators from all different forms of school choice – from traditional public schools to charter, magnet, online, private, and home education options – will join forces to celebrate opportunity in education with a rally at the capitol in Columbia.

WHAT:

-  Participants will then march through downtown to the Capitol to host a rally on the north steps featuring Governor Henry McMaster presenting a proclamation of South Carolina School Choice Week

-  Governor Henry McMaster

-  More than 2,000 students, parents, teachers, and school leaders

 

WHEN:

-  January 24 at 10:00 a.m.

-  Columbia Convention Center

 

Event organizers include My SC Education and Palmetto Promise Institute.

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through more than 32,000 independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
