Carnegie Learning Partners with OpenStax to Offer the Most Powerful and Affordable College Math Solution on the Market

Partnership Provides the Best Math Resources Available at a Fraction of the Price

PITTSBURGH--()--Carnegie Learning, Inc., a research-proven leader of mathematics technology, curriculum and services, has announced a partnership with OpenStax, a leading provider of open educational resources and textbooks that are free online for any student, anywhere. The partnership will combine Mika, the most powerful math courseware available in higher education, with OpenStax textbooks into a single, affordable learning solution for developmental math.

Mika is the culmination of 20+ years of research in cognitive science, instructional design and artificial intelligence. Unlike traditional homework software, Mika was built from the ground up to deliver a smarter, more nimble experience that is research-proven to work. An independent study by the RAND Corporation, including over 18,000 students at 147 schools in seven states, demonstrated that the technology leveraged in Mika can lead to substantial increases in student learning outcomes.1

OpenStax, a nonprofit based at Rice University, aims to improve access to education by offering low-cost open-source college textbooks. OpenStax textbooks are written by experts in their fields, meet standard scope and sequence requirements, and undergo a rigorous peer review process. OpenStax estimates having saved students more than $340 million since 2012.
