BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SessionM, the leading customer engagement platform, today announced that it has hired Amelio Vázquez-Reina as vice president of data science, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. In this role, Vázquez-Reina will work closely alongside the data engineering team to lead strategic implementation of new AI solutions into the company’s platform.
Vázquez-Reina joins SessionM from DataXu, where he drove scale and revenue through the development and application of advanced machine learning, AI and statistical solutions. His work has informed programmatic ad buying, inventory pricing, audience segmentation, channel selection and full funnel optimization for global brands. At SessionM, Vázquez-Reina will now lead SessionM's data science, AI and machine learning practice to implement and bring to production advanced strategies in customer data analysis, intelligence and ROI optimization.

Before joining SessionM, Vázquez-Reina held the role of principal data scientist and manager at DataXu, where he launched and managed the system optimization team. Prior to DataXu, Vázquez-Reina was a scientist at BBN Technologies in their multimedia division where he was the tech lead for one of their main intelligence and advanced research programs. He was also a research fellow at Harvard University in their Center for Brain Science and holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Tufts University.
