When combined with Aerohive’s Cloud Networking platform and unique cooperative control Wi-Fi architecture, TrackIP delivers advanced network resiliency, autonomous troubleshooting, and a platform for Aerohive’s upcoming comparative analytics tool.
TrackIP, part of Aerohive’s SD-LAN architecture, creates a network heartbeat to determine link availability. If a defined target IP address, such as a gateway, firewall, or DHCP server, becomes unreachable, access points (APs) can take automated action to disable SSIDs, activate mesh backhaul to neighboring APs, or broadcast an emergency virtual access console SSID with local DHCP for over-the-air SSH. This proactive behavior prevents clients from being stranded when uplink paths are inaccessible, enables continuous operation without intervention, and provides IT with console access even if they cannot physically access a device.
TrackIP complements Aerohive’s unique cooperative control Wi-Fi architecture by inherently improving network resiliency and path optimization through a set of control-based protocols, without the need for a centralized Wireless LAN controller. TrackIP builds on Aerohive’s existing SD-LAN architecture to streamline and automate network operations for administrators to save time, effort, and cost.
