ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Students and parents interested in Fairmont Preparatory Academy are invited to attend its 14th Annual Fall Open House and College Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 6-7:30 p.m. Attendees can gain the competitive advantage in college admissions by meeting representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities and learning how Fairmont Preparatory Academy helps students successfully prepare for the college application process.
The evening will feature a welcome by Headmaster Robert Mendoza, campus tours and break-out sessions on a variety of programs, including Advanced Placement courses, the International Business Program, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, and the Advanced Science and Engineering Program (ASEP).
Colleges and universities scheduled to attend include the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) campuses, Chapman University, Concordia University, Vanguard University, Soka University, and several from the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan. Representatives from schools will be on site to address admission requirements, questions and concerns, scholarship opportunities, campus life, and other related information for interested families and students.
“The Open House and College Fair is one of our most significant community events of the year. This is an opportunity for Fairmont Prep Academy to showcase the many individualized educational possibilities we offer students. Additionally, we expose our students to the variety of different colleges and universities available to them. It’s about finding the right fit to help each student realize his or her full potential,” Headmaster Mendoza said.
In the graduating class of 2017, 91 percent of Fairmont’s seniors who applied were accepted to the top 100 colleges and universities, as defined by U.S. News & World Report. They also received nearly $2.3 million in renewable merit-based scholarships — an average of $15,000 per student per year.
Fairmont Prep’s 40:1 student-to-college-counselor ratio and 75:1 student-to-counselor ratio provides highly personalized academic and college counseling for all students from their freshman to senior years. Comparatively, public and private school student-to-counselor ratios range from 200:1 to 945:1 nationwide.
Fairmont’s specialized programs help students to pave their own academic paths and prepare them for the rigors of college, particularly by familiarizing them with extensive research and lab work. The offering of 25 Advanced Placement courses helps students select college majors, reduce college course loads and save money in tuition.
