The Stable Secures a $4 Million Round of Funding to Establish New Capabilities and Location in Seattle

Minneapolis Consumer Brand Agency to Expand Capabilities with $4 Million Investment from Fargo-based Gen7

MINNEAPOLIS--()--The Stable, a consumer brand agency in Minneapolis, Minnesota, today announced that it is expanding services, including the opening of a new office in Seattle, Washington, with funding from Gen7 Investments.

Since its inception in 2015, The Stable has quickly grown to 25 full-time employees at its downtown Minneapolis office, working with brands like Ring, Califia Farms and Gorilla Glue to support their growing businesses at retail. As consumer shopping patterns are evolving, The Stable is reinventing the traditional broker model by going after new channels of distribution including social and e-commerce.

“With the retail landscape changing, we are seeing brands make considerable shifts towards new and emerging distribution platforms to reach the consumer,” said The Stable’s co-founder and CEO, Chad Hetherington. “Our role over the next few years is to position the agency to support our brand partners across all platforms.”

Funding from Gen7 is being used primarily for two purposes: to bolster the growth of the Minneapolis office in social and digital marketing capabilities; and launch the second office in Seattle to support brands on

Gen7, The Stable’s sole outside investor, launched earlier this year with capital from Forum Communications Company, a multimedia company headquartered in Fargo, North Dakota. In just a few months, Gen7 has invested in multiple fast-growing software companies, and plans to continue diversifying its portfolio, following the newly established partnership with The Stable.

“Gen7 is looking to invest in and partner with high-quality companies,” said Bill Marcil, Jr., President and CEO of Forum and Gen7. “We believe that The Stable’s business model is uniquely qualified for the changing retail environment, and their rapid growth over the past two years is indicative of the substantial value they provide to the firms they represent. The opportunity to partner with their team to help facilitate their continued growth is something that we are very excited about.”
