United Surgical Partners International Signs Agreement With Casetabs to Streamline and Enhance Surgical Case Coordination

Casetabs’ Cloud-Based Technology Helps to Improve Patient Care

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--()--Casetabs announced today that United Surgical Partners International (USPI) has selected Casetabs to aid in case coordination for its ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs). Casetabs’ cloud-based surgery coordination application will provide USPI-designated ASCs with an intuitive, central hub for all case-related communication and collaboration, digital surgery boards and physician office connectivity.

“A critical component in the selection of Casetabs was our ability to give care teams an integrated, central hub for real-time surgical case coordination,” said Gavin Fabian, CEO, Casetabs. “We have worked tirelessly to develop a solution that meaningfully improves the way case communication works, and we are pleased to see these efforts are acknowledged by an industry leader like USPI.”

Casetabs eliminates fragmented chains of communication like email, text, phone, faxing and whiteboards. Real-time case information and updates are delivered to everyone involved in patient care including center staff, physicians and their office staff, vendor reps, patients and caregivers, either through a web-enabled app or through the Casetabs native mobile app (iPhone and Android). On average, Casetabs reduces the number of touch points in a surgery from 25 to five, minimizing the risk of communication related errors and allowing caretakers to focus more on patients.

“Casetabs helps us to optimize our staff’s time and streamlines critical communications. This helps improve patient flow and ultimately helps our centers enhance the quality of care we provide for our patients,” said Ann Shimek, SVP of Clinical Operations for USPI.

“We look forward to a long relationship with USPI and are dedicated to finding new and innovative ways to further simplify case coordination so that medical centers can save even more time, further reduce errors and costs, and drive additional revenue,” said Mike Nolan, COO, Casetabs.
