LAIE, Hawaii--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC), a non-profit organization that protects and preserves Polynesian culture to share with visitors from around the world, has been voted as the number one must-see attraction in Hawaii by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Poll. The survey asked USA Today readers to vote on a list of 20 attractions put forth as the best of Hawaii by a panel of local travel experts.
The Polynesian Cultural Center is well known for its ability to recreate authentic cultural experiences that include fire knife dancing, fishing, traditional slap dance, spear throwing, etc. Cultural ambassadors take visitors through accurate recreations of six villages that represent the islands of Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Tahiti, Hawaii, and Aotearoa (New Zealand). Each island village is designed to make visitors feel as though they are actually in a village on the island being represented. The center also contains the Hukilau Marketplace where visitors can shop for souvenirs and enjoy authentic island cuisine.
