K12-Powered Online Public Schools to Hold In-Person Commencement for Wisconsin Students

MCFARLAND, Wis.--()--Wisconsin Virtual Academy (WIVA), serving students in grades K-12, and Destinations Career Academy of Wisconsin (DCAWI), serving students in grades 9-12, will honor the Class of 2017 with a dual graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 7th.

Both WIVA and DCAWI are online public charter schools authorized by the McFarland School District.

WIVA offers more than 150 courses with multiple academic levels, including core, comprehensive, Honors, and Advanced Placement® – all designed to let students benefit from a program tailored to their goals and abilities and taught by Wisconsin-licensed teachers.

DCAWI leverages an online college and career readiness curriculum designed to prepare students to enter the workforce or pursue other post-secondary options. Students are able to access multiple versions of core online high school courses and Career Technical Education (CTE) courses in one of four career clusters: construction; business management and administration, health science, or information technology.

WIVA’s Class of 2017 valedictorian is Daniel Seybold and Jacob Skelton is the salutatorian. DCAWI’s valedictorian is Krislyn Baumann.

Terri McGowan, President of the Operating Engineers Local 139, will serve as keynote speaker. A National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony will take place prior to the ceremony.
